General Guidelines for Parents

  • Parent Teacher Interaction: Parents can meet the Class Teacher during the PTM organised at TSK twice during an academic year. If a parent is unable to keep that appointment or wishes to bring any matter to the Teachers notice, you can meet the Class Teacher from 7.15 to 7.45 on weekdays, preferably with a prior appointment.
  • Contacting the Head Mistress: Please note that the Headmistress can be contacted in case of any academic or school related issues on all working days, from 7:15 am to 8:30 am and from 12 pm to 2 pm:
    • Airport Branch : Ms. Sufera Muhammed Ashraf – 33688130
    • Wakrah Branch: Ms. Babita Shailesh Karkera- 33570955
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Personal grooming especially hair cut, trimmed fingernails to be closely monitored and maintained by the parents.
    • Two table napkins and tissues should be carried by the child every day.
    • An extra dress should be sent in your child’s bag every day.
    • The child should wear only white socks and black shoes. Socks and Shoes of any other colour are not allowed.
  • Labeling of Items:
Please write your child’s name clearly on all the personal items (water bottle, tiffin box, Bag, books and note books etc) carried by your child.
  • Gold Jewellery and Valuable items:
It is strongly advised that the child should not wear gold jewellery or bring any expensive items to TSK. In case of loss of such items the school will not be responsible.
  • Water Bottle:
The disposable water bottles are not encouraged at TSK as they pose a safety risk to the small children and are unhygienic as the bottle caps are dropped often by the child.
  • Punctuality:
The child must be dropped at TSK before 08:30 am and must be picked up before 12:30 pm. Parents opting for TSK arranged transportation should ensure that the child is present at the pick-up point on time.

Maintaining the TSK Notebooks

Your child has been issued printed Maths and English notebooks. Kindly follow the instructions to maintain the books properly:

  1. Kindly ensure that your child does not scribble in the notebooks.
  2. Kindly keep the notebooks neat and covered.
  3. Please note that the previous portions not covered in the class can be done at home neatly over a period of time.
  4. Whenever the child is writing a number or alphabet correctly without the teacher’s help, then the teacher will start the next letter of the alphabet or the number leaving the remaining pages of that alphabet/number. These pages can be done at home neatly as practice for the child.
  5. The child should not be allowed to write on the pages of the portions ahead of what is being currently done in the class, as it disturbs the pace set by the teachers. If those pages are scribbled or written at home without the teacher’s notice then you will be required to replace the Notebook with a new one.
  6. The child will be given Home work (H.W.) on writing days. Please ensure that only the H.W. is done and the remaining pages are not used for extra practice. You can maintain a separate book for practice at home.

School Transport Rules

School Arranged Transport:

  1. The child must be present at the designated place in the morning at the prescribed time. The bus driver will not wait for any child.
  2. It is not the responsibility of the Bus driver to give a missed call to parents before reaching the pickup point. It is unsafe for the driver and the children in the bus moreover all drivers are strictly instructed not to do so.
  3. If your child misses the bus then the bus will not come back to pick up the child. It will be your responsibility to drop the child to school.
  4. In the afternoon the parent must be present at the receiving point at the prescribed time to receive the child as any delay at one point affects all other parents subsequently.
  5. If you see any unsafe condition in the bus or an unsafe act of the driver or children in the bus then please inform the driver immediately and call our office as well for our review and further action.

Note : Transportation Fee Payment:

The due date for payment will be the first working day of each term. The fees must be paid within two weeks from the due date. If the payment is not received by the due date then the school bus will cease to pick up the child.

Parent’s Arranged Transport:

  1. The official school time for students is 08:00 am till 12:00 noon, with 30 minutes grace period on either side. So the child must be dropped to school before 08:30 am and must be picked up before 12:30 PM.
  2. Student’s arrival after 08:30 am in the morning is strictly not allowed and in such cases the child will have to go back, with no liability to the school.
  3. Parents who have their own transport arrangements for their child are requested to ensure that they do not park their vehicles in front of the school entrance, while dropping or picking up the child. This practise creates traffic congestion around the entrance which is not safe for the children and also causes inconvenience to other parents.

Transfer between TSK Doha and TSK Wakra:

This to clarify that though TSK Wakra is a branch of TSK Doha, but for the Supreme Education Council (SEC) these are two separate entities. Accordingly, the formalities for transfer of a student from one location to another within TSK are the same as leaving one school and joining another. It also gets subjected to the capacity limitations specified by the SEC for each location. Thus a transfer within TSK is basically a cancellation of admission at one location and a new admission at another location.

Hence any request for transfer of student between the two locations will be subject to the availability of seats and the applicable rules by the SEC. However, we would like to emphasize that the request for internal transfer is always given the first preference for admission if limited seats are available at the requested location.
